The Ikea’s ships are a new kind of marketing and connection strategy in the cities in which Ikea is opening news stores.

These weeks the main event  happening in Southampton, a city southeast of London, is the opening of one of these stores in its central commercial area, directly connected with the port of Southampton.

During the summer months they put a ferry service at the disposal of public which connects the port of Southampton with the port of Island of Wight, opposite the city.

This ship had a powerful marketing because this maritime area has great ferries traffic which it connects daily England island with the rest of europe.

They develop a similar strategy in Brooklyn Ikeas store, New York, situated in the port zone of Red Hook square.

In this case they also offered a free water taxi service connecting downtown with the Red Hook port, passing by the Statue of Liberty and along the city seafront .

Of course you are not obliged to buy something in Ikea for to use this ship. They offer this service  in exchange for direct connection to their stores, not only by by land, but also by sea .
